Celebrity Breakups: Heidi Klum & Seal Divorce

They've shared one of the most passionate unions in Tinseltown, so it comes as sad and surprising news that Heidi Klum is getting divorced from husband Seal. Seal was the special guest during Monday's (January 23) taping of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show". With the episode set to air later this week, the 48-year-old British singer opened up about ending his marriage with wife of six and a half years, Heidi Klum, telling, “I think we were shocked. You go into these things with the greatest intentions when you say ‘I do’ and you say ’til death do us part.’ Those vows hold value. They are not just words… You try and you work through it and the thing that you quickly realize when you are married and you become a parent you do the best that you can." "It makes you actually appreciate your parents a lot more. The thing that I’m most proud about this great woman who married (and I really do mean that from the bottom of my heart), is that together she has given me four incredible gifts…four beautiful children [Leni, Henry, Johan, and Lou]. She still, in my opinion, the most wonderful woman in the world. I think our priority was to remain civil and do this thing with dignity. We still very much love each other,” Seal, who also performed “Let’s Stay Together” for the daytime talk show, added. “To say that neither of us were grieving would be an out and out lie (and I don’t mind telling you that). I think the operative here is that we are civil to each other and we both have a tremendous amount of respect and love and we try and do this with as much dignity as we possibly can.” Meanwhile, the "Kiss From a Rose" singer also commented on the fact that he was still sporting his wedding band, as he explained, “Yes, I am still wearing my ring. I think it’s just pretty much a token of how I feel about this woman. We have eight years. Eight wonderful years together. Just because we have decided to separate doesn’t necessarily mean you take off your ring and you’re no longer connected to that person. We will be connected in many ways ‘til the rest of our lives…. though our children and also through this tremendous admiration, respect and love that we have for each other. Will we wear the ring for the rest of our lives? Who knows? Michael Jackson's Family Not Out For 'Revenge'

'There is nothing you can do here today that will bring Michael back,' Joe and Katherine Jackson say in a statement read at Conrad Murray hearing.

At Tuesday's (November 29) sentencing hearing for Dr. Conrad Murray — where Michael Jackson's former personal physician received <a href="/news/articles/1675062/conrad-murray-sentence.jhtml">four years in jail for involuntary manslaughter</a> — a statement from Jackson's parents was read in court. <div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:708788.id:1673923" width="240" height="211"></div> "We still look at each other in disbelief: Is it really possible he is gone? It is simply against the natural order of things," Joe and Katherine Jackson said in the statement, read by Jackson family attorney Brian Panish. "We are not here to seek revenge. There is nothing you can do here today that will bring Michael back." <a href="http://www.facebook.com/mtvnews/posts/199210760161755" target="_blank">Do you think Conrad Murray deserved the maximum sentence? Let us know on Facebook.</a> Along with Katherine, Michael's siblings LaToya, Jermaine, Randy and Rebbie were also reportedly in attendance at the hearing. In regards to the sentence, the family said in the statement: "We respectfully request you impose a sentence that reminds physicians they cannot sell their services to the highest bidder." The judge agreed, lamenting that due to a new California law to address overcrowding in prisons, he was unable to sentence Murray to state prison. Stating that Murray practiced "horrible medicine" and had "absolutely no remorse," Judge Michael Pastor declined the defense's motion for probation and handed down the stiffest sentence possible — four years — which Murray will most likely serve in a Los Angeles county jail or on home confinement. Upon leaving the courthouse, Michael's brother Jermaine, when asked if the four-year sentence was enough, shook his head and said, "No." Katherine told local TV station KTLA, "Four years is not enough for someone's life. It won't bring him back. But at least he got the maximum, and I thought the judge was very, very fair."

"We talked for many years about working together, and we found a record that was incredible." Usher said it was a song that resonated with him personally. Beyoncé and Jay-Z's little girl, Blue Ivy Carter, is already getting lots of attention from her aunties. B's Destiny's Child sister Kelly Rowland recently gushed about the nearly one-month-old, sharing what it was like to meet her for the first time. "She's absolutely beautiful!" Rowland told <a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/marc_malkin/beyonceacute_jay-zs_baby_blue_ivy_shes/288811?" target="_blank">E! News</a> about her pal's new bundle of joy. "And I say that with such a huge grin! I'm so excited. <div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:725377.id:1676907" width="240" height="211"></div> "We all just stared at her," she added about meeting the baby for the first time. "I just stared at her. She is so beautiful." So what did she buy the baby? "That's between me and Blue," she said. "But you best believe her auntie will have her dressed to impress." Decked out in red gear, the 17-year-old "Never Say Never" star showed off his fancy moves for a gathered crowd of onlookers during a break from studio work on his new album Believe.

Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation will launch February 29 with a fete at Harvard University, the singer and her mother and co-founder, Cynthia Germanotta, announced in a statement on Thursday (January 19). BTWF was created to promote youth empowerment and equality by encouraging self-confidence and well-being and bringing bullying to an end. <div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:683376.id:1669247" width="240" height="211"></div> Joining the pop star at Sanders Theatre will be her partners in the endeavor: Harvard's Berkman Center for Internet and Society, the MacArthur Foundation and the California Endowment. Gaga has long been a staunch supporter of anti-bullying legislation, reportedly <a href="/news/articles/1672010/lady-gaga-obama-meeting.jhtml">meeting with President Obama</a> to discuss the topic in September and <a href="/news/articles/1675501/lady-gaga-white-house-bullying.jhtml">visiting the White House</a> in early December to discuss the issue with administration officials. She dedicated her performance of "Hair" at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas to <a href="/news/articles/1671190/lady-gaga-obama-call-teen-suicide.jhtml">Jamey Rodemeyer</a>, a 14-year-old fan who took his own life after years of anti-gay harassment. Kurt, Rachel and Quinn all received great news about college, Rachel finally accepted Finn's proposal and evil Sebastian's plot to harm Kurt with a doctored slushee backfired when Blaine took the hit for his boyfriend. <div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:730282.id:1671179" width="240" height="211"></div> Yet the forced "all Michael, all the time" song selection led to some head-scratching scenes including Kurt, Rachel and Finn serenading an injured Blaine with Jackson's love song to a rat, "Ben," and two different music-video re-enactments only appealed to Jackson superfans. The rest of us can enjoy my latest "Glee-cap"! Hit play on the embedded video and sing along with these lyrics. Adele Notches Best Sales Year Since Usher's Confessions

In 2011, 21 moved more than 5.6 million copies in the U.S.

The music industry has been stuck in a rut for nearly a decade. But every once in a while, it still manages to produce one of those unstoppable hit albums that give everyone that good old feeling. <div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:604336" width="240" height="211"></div> This year's model is <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/adele/artist.jhtml">Adele</a>'s 21, which not only sold more copies than any other album in the U.S. in 2011 (more than 5.6 million to date), but which has also moved the most units of any artist since 2004. According to a <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/12/27/us-adele-idUSTRE7BQ10V20111227" target="_blank">Reuters report</a>, those gaudy figures (which top 15 million worldwide) make the British songbird the first artist to cross the 5 million mark in one year since Usher did it with his fourth studio album, Confessions, which sold 7.9 million units more than seven years ago. And to think she did it by releasing just two mega singles, <a href="/news/articles/1675976/adele-rolling-in-the-deep-best-song-2011.jhtml">"Rolling in the Deep"</a> and "Someone Like You," and barely touring North America due to <a href="/news/articles/1674453/adele-throat-surgery-recovery.jhtml">recurring vocal issues.</a>  There have been other big hits along the way to Adele's mark, including Eminem selling more than 3.4 million copies of his comeback Recovery album last year and Taylor Swift taking the honors in 2009 with Fearless, which sold 3.2 million copies. But none have come as close to Usher's mark in the interim. There doesn't seem to be any chance Adele will be surpassed by the end of the year: The closest contenders are Lady Gaga's Born This Way (2.08 million) and Michael Bublé's Christmas (2.4 million). The other good news is that overall music sales are expected to be up slightly (3 percent) by the end of this year, marking the first time that's happened since 2004.

Julianne Moore Takes On Sarah Palin in 'Game Change'

It takes a lot of courage for an actor to accept the tough task of portraying a living person. Even gutsier was Julianne Moore's decision to take on the role of Sarah Palin in the upcoming HBO film, Game Change (premieres Saturday, March 10, at 9 p.m. ET). Why? Because Palin remains a highly prominent presence in American politics. After the credits roll, HBO viewers could very easily switch over to their network news and catch the real Sarah weighing in on various issues of the day. Taylor Swift Out Of 'Les Miserables'

U.K. stage actress Samantha Barks will play Eponine, alongside Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway, in Tom Hooper's big-screen adaptation.

Taylor Swift won't be getting her "Les Misérables" on. After Swift was offered the role of Eponine in January, the part has now gone to Samantha Barks.

Barks' name might not be as recognizable as Swift's, but she is no stranger to the part. The 21-year-old U.K. native and stage actress played it twice before: Once during the 2010 London production of the musical, and again during the 2011 25th Anniversary Concert at the 02 Arena, which co-starred Nick Jonas, to whom she was romantically linked at the time.

Barks not only beat out the likes of Swift, but also several high-profile Hollywood starlets including Evan Rachel Wood, Scarlett Johansson and Lea Michele, who were all vying for a part in the Tom Hooper-directed big-screen adaptation of the stage show. Barks joins Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Eddie Redmayne and Anne Hathaway, among other Tinseltown A-listers, in the flick.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Barks learned of the good news from theatre producer Cameron Mackintosh, who made the surprise announcement onstage during a curtain call after her performance in "Oliver!" at England's Manchester Palace.

In an interview with the BBC shortly after the news was announced, Barks said, "To have that news, it still surprised me now. I'm really shocked. It's an incredible cast. ... I'm very excited to meet them and to work with them all.

"I've had such an amazing journey with the character. I feel so excited to get to explore another side of her. ... Now it's the film, so it's a big, old journey. ... To get to do the film is absolutely amazing."

She also took to Twitter to express her joy over the chance to star in the film: "Words cannot express how much I appreciate all the amazing support I have received from everyone! I haven't stopped smiling!"
