Gabby Douglas Gets Olympics Love From Beyonce, Lil Wayne, More
Gold-medal-winning gymnast sets the Internet on fire after landmark victory in London.

<P>It's been an impressive run for Team U.S.A. over in London. As the <a href="/news/articles/1691023/olympics-carly-rae-jepsen-austin-mahone.jhtml">Summer Olympics</a> continue to captivate the world, event after event, it was a girl who has been nicknamed "The Flying Squirrel" who won not only the gold in the women's gymnastics all-around final competition on Thursday, but also the <i>hearts</i> of some of the biggest stars in entertainment.</P><P>What makes Gabby Douglas' win even more impressive is that the 16-year-old is the first African-American woman to take home the honor, a feat that has earned her major kudos from some major players in the music world and beyond. Kelly Rowland spoke to MTV News earlier this week, and she showed love to the soon-to-be gold medalist, proudly exclaiming, "Gymnastics! Gabby Douglas! She's awesome!"</P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Kelly Rowland Is A Fan Of Gabby Douglas" id="vid:822664" width="415" height="255"></div><p></P><P>But Kelly's not the only member of Destiny's Child enamored with the headline-making teen. Beyonce <a href="http://www.beyonce.com/news/gabby-douglas" target="_blank">blogged</a> about Douglas' win, sharing that she feels inspired by the teen's impressive Olympics run. "A huge congratulations to 16 year old Olympic Gold Medalist Gabby Douglas - WOW - what a thrill to watch you take this Gold! - enjoy this moment, its yours. Thank you for inspiring all of us! Love, B."</P><P>They're hardly the only A-listers showing the tiny teen adoration. Lil Wayne <a href="https://twitter.com/LilTunechi" target="_blank">tweeted</a>, "Glad i lived to see what Gabby Douglas did in the Olympics. Icon." His Young Money pal Nicki Minaj also sent her some viral love. "Kisses to Gabby what an amazing little firecracker. #USA #Olympics," she <a href="https://twitter.com/NICKIMINAJ/status/231080554223767552" target="_blank">wrote</a>.</P><P>In fact, after Gabby <a href="https://twitter.com/gabrielledoug/status/231268869027790848" target="_blank">responded</a> to Weezy's tweet with "WOW!!!! Im speechless Thank you SOO MUCH!!," Minaj teased back, "Oh wow, I tweeted about #Gabby earlier but she responds to@LilTunechi and not me? U know what? Ima fight u. I've had it!!!"</P><P>Other Twitter love came from a myriad of entertainers, including Oprah Winfrey, Estelle, Ian Somerhalder, Ciara, Gabrielle Union, Timbaland, Elizabeth Banks and athletes like fellow <a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2012/07/31/michael-phelps-wins-19th-olympic-medal-most-decorated-olympian-ever/">gold-medal winner Michael Phelps</a> and Kristi Yamaguchi.</P><P>Shortly after the historic victory, it was <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/olympics-2012-gabby-douglas-gold-medal-corn-flakes-358162" target="_blank">announced</a> that she would appear on the front of the Kellogg's Corn Flakes box; a mock-up was released in the wake of the win.</P><P>"People have asked if I felt like I was on fire here in London, but I just feel normal, the same as I do every day in practice. The difference has been that I was ready to seize the moment, to focus and to trust in what I can do," Douglas wrote on her ESPN <a href="http://espn.go.com/espnw/blog/post/1163/the-biggest-night-my-life" target="_blank">blog</a> about her landmark victory.</P><P>"You say you want to do it and you dream about it every day, but then when it happens, it's hard to believe it really has. Tonight, when the U.S. flag was raised and the national anthem played, there were so many camera flashes going off I felt like I was at a concert. <P>Now that the Summer Olympics are in full swing, it seems as though the entire world has been caught up in watching their country's best athletes go for gold. We've definitely caught the Olympics fever here at MTV News and have been hard-pressed to pull our eyes away from all the action, and we're not alone. Thanks to a slew of enthusiastic tweets from our favorite celebrities, it's obvious the fever has spread to the likes of Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and Pink, particularly after the U.S. gymnastics team won their gold medal Tuesday evening (July 31).</P><P>"Those girls are tearing the floor up for the USA! #Olympics," Lady Gaga <a href="https://twitter.com/ladygaga/status/230501177014493184" target="_blank">tweeted</a>. "Woohoo! Gold for the ladies! Just want to squeeze them! So much talent and beauty. Did u seem all holding hands? Katherine Jackson Removed As Guardian of Michael Jackson's Children

<P>The unpredictable wheel of Jackson family drama continued to spin on Wednesday (July 25) when a judge stripped family matriarch Katherine of her guardianship of the late King of Pop Michael's three children, handing over the duties to their cousin, TJ Jackson.</P><P>After nearly a week of increasingly bizarre public feuding, accusations, <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/07/25/fight-details-janet-and-paris-jackson/">confrontations</a> and <a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/07/24/fight-between-janet-and-paris-jackson-kidnapping-allegations/">allegations of kidnapping</a>, <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2012/07/25/jackson-family-emergency-guardianship-hearing-katherine-jackson-tj-randy-michael-jackson-kids-custody/" target="_blank">TMZ</a> reported that Judge Mitch Beckloff temporarily stripped Katherine of her guardianship over Paris, Prince and Prince Michael II ("Blanket").</P><P>He appointed TJ, 34, son of Tito Jackson, as the new guardian for the children, who appear to be at the center of a tug-of-war between the Michael's adult siblings. During an emergency guardianship hearing, Beckloff did not suspend Katherine for any wrongdoing, but said that she was being blocked from carrying out her guardianship by unnamed third parties, which the site speculated were siblings Randy, Janet, Jermaine and Rebbie.</P><P>Beckloff reportedly advised TJ and his lawyer to seek a permanent guardianship agreement following stories that Katherine, 82, was being held against her will by the same unidentified "third parties." During the hearing, TJ's lawyer described to the judge a strange phone call his client got from Katherine on Tuesday. "I've never heard my grandmother talk like that," TJ said, adding that she didn't sound "sharp" and that her "pauses, choice of vocabulary ... she has not used certain phrases like that before." He suspected she was talking in code.</P><P>Katherine Jackson called home on Tuesday after being out of touch for nine days, according to her lawyer. She had asked TJ to watch the children for her when she left her home on July 15.</P><P>In an unexpected twist, TMZ reported that one of Katherine's own lawyers, Sandra Ribera, said she had visited the family compound recently and also believes that her client is being held against her will. Katherine's other lawyer, Perry Sanders, said in court that he vigorously opposes a permanent move to strip Katherine of her guardianship and that when she returns to Los Angeles he will file a motion to reinstate her as guardian. <a href="http://www.cnn.com/2012/07/25/showbiz/jackson-family-dispute/index.html" target="_blank">CNN</a> reported that after the hearing Sanders said he'd been informed by Randy Jackson that his mother was on a plane headed back to California.</P><P>Sanders also said the Tuesday night check-in call from Katherine was made after she met with Jermaine and Janet Jackson at a spa near Tucson, Arizona. He was barred, however, from meeting with her or talking to her at that time.</P><P>The judge also ordered that the children not be removed from California without a court order and that backup guardian Diana Ross and Debbie Rowe, biological mother of the two oldest children, also be informed of the order to keep the kids in the state. The move to wrestle guardianship away from the family matriarch was days in coming and allegedly supported by the children, as well as MJ's estate. A spokesperson for the estate had no comment on the actions at press time.</P><P>The temporary guardianship will be reviewed at a hearing scheduled for next month, where it's possible that Wednesday's action could be reversed.</P><P>While Michael's will gave Katherine custody of his children and a 20 percent stake in his massive estate, her husband, Joe Jackson, and the eight surviving Jackson siblings were completely cut out. Some of the siblings have reportedly been exploring a move to have the will invalidated by arguing that Michael was in New York on the day that the document was notarized in Los Angeles.</P><P>In a video that surfaced earlier this week, Janet Jackson is seen trying to take a cell phone away from Paris, 14, and berating her niece for using her phone to tweet about family business. That video leaked after Janet, Jermaine and Randy Jackson reportedly attempted to persuade Paris and Prince, 15, to leave Katherine's home on Monday. Both resisted and a short time later, sheriff's deputies arrived to break up a scuffle between Randy, Jermaine Jackson and TJ.</P><P><a href="http://rapfix.mtv.com/2012/07/24/fight-at-michael-jacksons-mother-house-police-called/">MTV News</a> reported that police were called to the scene but did not make any arrests. </P>

Selena Gomez Says She's 'Lucky' To Have Justin Bieber
'I don't take anything in my personal life too seriously,' she tells Teen Vogue.

<P>Contrary to the breakup rumors that flooded the Internet earlier this month, Selena Gomez is perfectly happy with <a href="/news/articles/1690653/justin-bieber-writes-song-selena-gomez.jhtml">pop-star boyfriend Justin Bieber</a>.</P><P>He's just one of a few topics the <a href="http://www.mtv.com/ontv/vma/2012/">VMA</a> nominee chatted about with <a href="http://www.teenvogue.com/industry/coverlook/coverlook-september-2012/selena-gomez-teen-vogue-photos" target="_blank"><i>Teen Vogue</i></a> for a September cover story. Gomez also discussed her aspirations to take acting to a whole new level and her dreams to make music with <i>another</i> Justin.</P><P>Describing her relationship with Bieber as "really fun," Gomez told the mag she feels "lucky" to have the young singer by her side. "I'm 20. I don't take anything in my personal life too seriously," she says. "I have great friends and a solid group of people I love. I feel like everything else will come organically."</P><P>Unlike <a href="/news/articles/1686645/miley-cyrus-liam-hemsworth-engaged.jhtml">fellow Disney alum Miley Cyrus</a>, the pint-size pop star isn't interested in walking down the aisle anytime soon, saying, "Marriage and all that other stuff I think will happen once I feel accomplished in every other aspect of my life."</P><P>But if there's one thing Gomez is pushing for it's her long-term goal to shake off her predictable good-girl reputation. One major step in making her Mickey Mouse days a distant memory is her <a href="/news/articles/1684137/selena-gomez-spring-breakers.jhtml">girls-gone-wild adventure flick "Spring Breakers,"</a> which hits theaters in early 2013. She tells the magazine that after she read the script for the Harmony Korine-directed film, she took a plane to the director's home in Nashville to convince him that she would "work really hard."</P><P>And while she describes her role in 2011's "Monte Carlo" as "a good step for me at the time," Gomez said she would never want to do something like that again. "I don't necessarily feel accomplished. I want to create a whole different persona when it comes to acting," she explained.</P><P>Gomez is also planning to take her music to the next level too, and there's one star she's dying to hit the studio with. "I don't think he ever would — I don't even think he's doing music anymore — is Justin Timberlake," she said, gushing, "Just 'cause I love his music sooo much."</P><P><b>The <a href="http://www.mtv.com/ontv/vma/2012/">2012 MTV Video Music Awards</a> will air live from Staples Center in Los Angeles on Thursday, September 6, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Gwen Stefani Covers NYLON November 2012
With her second Push and Shove single "Looking Hot" slated to pump through radio stations on November 6th, Gwen Stefani pitched in on promotions by covering the November 2012 America issue of NYLON magazine.
The 43-year-old No Doubt frontrunner seemed to keep with a black and white wardrobe theme for the Marvin Scott Jarrett shot front page while opening up about being famous to how she uses magazines for music inspiration.

On fame:
"I'm telling you right now, being Number One or playing in a garage--they're both super fun."
On what inspires her:
"I got all my favorite people that I work with [together] and we had a creative day. We basically all sat around with our art books and [magazine] tears and just put them up and did collages and tried to get a direction. We ended up not using anything, but it was really fun."
On how the music world and award shows are evolving:
"It used to have so much weight. People even paid attention to the categories! Now if you win one--I don't even think anyone takes your picture. It's like, whatever."
