HGTV, LA and Dining Room Tables
I've been watching a lot of HGTV since coming to LA. My favorite shows are House Hunters and House Hunters International. There's also another show I like to watch called For Rent, but only because it makes me angry.
When it comes to apartments/homes, I think living in New York for the past eleven years has made me bitter because there was this whiny broad on For Rent a few nights ago who was looking at a huge place—A HUGE PLACE—and was like, "There's no place for a dining room table..."
B*TCH, YOU'RE LUCKY TO GET A KITCHEN IN NEW YORK.
I hated her.
Now there's some stupid lady on House Hunters who wants a townhouse with a fireplace that she can turn on with a light switch. IT HAS TO BE A LIGHT SWITCH because she doesn't want to bend down and flip a switch on the floor.
WHO DO THESE PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE?
Anyway, I know my LA update is WAY overdue (and truth be told I wrote a long one last week but for some reason it didn't save so I lost the whole thing and I was so angry that I just said, "Ah, f*ck it," and closed the computer instead of rewriting) but to give you a quick update, I AM SO HAPPY HERE. I MEAN, I'M REALLY, REALLY HAPPY. And I think living here and watching HGTV—both of these things combined—has made me realize that New York was just beating me down. I mean, the fireplace lady—yes, she's an idiot. But there's nothing wrong with wanting a dining room table. Why did I get so mad at that lady?
Since being here, at least once a day I ask myself why I have lived in New York for so long. (It's like I had Stockholm Syndrome or something.) CALIFORNIA IS AWESOME. It's like the promised land. It's sunny all the time and there are birds and flowers everywhere. I have space out here. I have a sofa on the patio out here. I HAVE A SOFA OUTSIDE. I haven't seen one rat since I've been here. But hummingbirds? THEY ZIP BY MY HEAD EVERY DAY. I am so happy.
I'm supposed to go back to New York in November, but truth be told, I'm not sure I will.

Them Crooked Vultures make their debut with a post-Lollapalooza set.
By James Montgomery
<P>Officially, <a href="/news/articles/1617945/janes-addiction-killers-turn-up-heat-on-lollapaloozas-last-day.jhtml">Lollapalooza ended Sunday night</a> in Chicago's Grant Park, with dueling sets from <a href="/music/artist/killers_the/artist.jhtml">the Killers</a> and <a href="/music/artist/janes_addiction/artist.jhtml">Jane's Addiction</a>. Unofficially, it ended <i>very</i> early Monday morning, across town at venerable rock club the Metro, with a surprise show by Them Crooked Vultures. </P><P> </P><P>To the unfamiliar, the Vultures might seem like an odd choice to close out Lolla weekend ... until you realize that they're made up of <a href="/music/artist/foo_fighters/artist.jhtml">Foo Fighters</a> frontman/ former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, <a href="/music/artist/queens_stone_age/artist.jhtml">Queens of the Stone Age</a> mastermind Josh Homme and <a href="/music/artist/led_zeppelin/artist.jhtml">Led Zeppelin</a> legend John Paul Jones. And their gig at the Metro was their world premiere. </P><P> </P><P>According to <a href="http://blogs.suntimes.com/derogatis/2009/08/them_crooked_vultures_at_metro.html" target="_blank">some reports</a>, the Vultures actually turned <i>down</i> Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell's request to replace the Beastie Boys as headliners at the festival, opting to debut in front of some 1,100 super-psyched fans at the Metro, rather than 75,000 in Grant Park (tickets for the gig were announced via Foo Fighter/ QOTSA fan clubs). Meaning that, in a lot of ways, this was the most sought-after ticket in town. </P><P> </P><P>Taking the stage just after midnight, the Vultures — Grohl on drums (of course), Homme on guitar and vocals, Jones on bass and keys and frequent QOTSA contributor Alain Johannes on guitar — ripped through 12 songs in 80 minutes, all taken from their upcoming debut, which may or may not be called <i>Never Deserved the Future,</i> and may or may not be hitting stores on October 23 (early "promo" videos touting both those facts were revealed over the weekend to be hoaxes perpetrated by QOTSA fans). </P><P> </P><P>The songs, with appropriately Homme-ian titles like "Scumbag Blues," "Mind Eraser (No Chaser)," "Caligulove" and "Interlude w/Ludes," sounded pretty much how you'd expect, given the band's pedigree. They rocked, hard — <a href="http://leisureblogs.chicagotribune.com/turn_it_up/2009/08/concert-review-them-crooked-vultures-at-metro.html" target="_blank"><i>Chicago Tribune</i></a> critic Greg Kot described them as "fresh, invigorating and just plain nasty" — delving off into psychedelic, reverb-filled excursions and exploring proggy territory, "both of the old-school Yes variety, and the more modern Tool flavor," according to the <i>Chicago Sun-Times'</i> Jim DeRogatis. </P><P> </P><P>It's not known if Monday's Metro performance was a one-off event for the Vultures — there have been whispers of a full-blown tour, but a spokesperson for Homme had not responded to MTV News' request for comment at press time. Nor was it clear whether or not they'll have an album out in October. </P><P> </P><P>Early Monday, a <a href="http://twitter.com/crookedvultures" target="_blank">Crooked Vultures Twitter account</a>, which had previously posted links to the band's <a href="http://www.themcrookedvultures.com/" target="_blank">official-looking Web site</a> and the Metro's online ticketing site — posted a link to what appears to be the group's first bit of official merchandise: a <i>Deserve the Future</i> T-shirt. Cost: $30.</p>

Will Black Keys Team Up With Ke$ha? First They Want Jim Nabors
The duo sat down with MTV News in Berlin to discuss a pair of unlikely collaborations.
By James Montgomery
<P>Theirs is a relationship that has spanned time and Twitter, <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/keshasuxx/status/77286418598211584" target="_blank">seafood</a> and <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/keshasuxx/status/157523381602889728" target="_blank">shaving</a>, but over the years, the unlikely bond between the <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/black_keys/artist.jhtml">Black Keys</a> and <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/id_3213641/artist.jhtml">Ke$ha</a> has grown to become something <i>more</i>: a genuine friendship, marked with the occasional trespassing charge. </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Would The Black Keys Ever Collaborate With Ke$ha?" id="vid:731631.id:1678505" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>"We're friends with her, we've known her since way before she was famous, before she was even a singer, I guess," Keys drummer Patrick Carney told MTV News. "When she was 16 years old, she used to sneak into our shows. We kind of became friends with her by kicking her out of our backstage room, over and over again. She actually has snuck into shows in L.A., San Diego, Coachella ..." </P><P> </P><P>"She snuck in and [got] kicked out of one show, like, <i>five</i> times," frontman Dan Auerbach added. "[She] snuck in through the kitchen. I don't know if she's such a big fan; she just likes breaking the rules." </P><P> </P><P>So, when MTV News sat down with the 'Keys in Berlin during the premiere of their <a href="/news/articles/1678662/black-keys-gold-on-the-ceiling-music-video.jhtml">"Gold on the Ceiling"</a> video, we had to ask if their friendship with Ke$ha would take the next step: an actual musical collaboration. It's not all that far-fetched, considering both Ke$h and Auerbach live in Nashville ("I see her every once in a while flying by in her T-Top [convertible]," Auerbach laughed), and recently, the glittery one has logged studio time with <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/keshasuxx/status/160846424609787906" target="_blank">the Flaming Lips</a>. So, could we see a team-up on the next Black Keys album? </P><P> </P><P>"I guess, I don't know," Carney said. "We don't really do that many collaborations, really." </P><P> </P><P>OK, so if a Ke$ha collabo isn't in the cards, just who would the 'Keys like to work with next? Well, as it turns out, they've got their eyes set on landing a very big star for the next record ... even if they mistakenly believe he's deceased. </P><P> </P><P>"We both want to work with Jim Nabors very badly, but apparently he's not with us anymore," Carney said. </P><P>Oh, <a href="http://www.jimnabors.com/" target="_blank">but he is.</a> Which means that, much like Nabors, the dream is alive. The Ke$ha collabo? Eh, probably not so much. </P><P> </P><P><i>Should the Black Keys hit the studio with Ke$ha? Leave your comment below!</i></p>

Ke$ha Is Channeling 'Sexiness' Of '70s Rock For New Album
Glitter-heavy pop star tells MTV News she's going for 'balls-out, irreverent rock and roll.'
By James Montgomery, with reporting by Matt Elias
<P><a href="/music/artist/_kesha_/artist.jhtml">Ke$ha</a>'s already got the face paint down pat, and, during recent live sets, she's even taken to <a href="http://www.popeater.com/2011/03/17/kesha-drinks-blood-during-performance" target="_blank">guzzling blood</a> out of a human heart, so it should come as no surprise that, on her upcoming album, the pop star is taking things back to the most <i>theatrical</i> era of rock: the prop-heavy, arena-spanning heyday of the 1970s. </P><P> </P><P>Ke$h revealed her plans over the weekend in Los Angeles, on the red carpet of KIIS FM's annual <a href="/news/articles/1663909/wango-tango-britney-spears-kesha.jhtml">Wango Tango</a> concert, where she told MTV News that the follow-up to her breakout <i>Animal</i> album (and, we suppose, <a href="/news/articles/1652714/kehas-cannibal-a-cheat-sheet.jhtml"><i>Cannibal</i></a> too) would be heavy on hard riffs and light on pretty much <i>everything</i> else. </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Ke$ha Says New Album Will Be ' Balls-Out, Irreverent Rock'" id="vid:652875" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>"The next album ... I've been working on writing on the road, but as far as a sound, I just know it's gonna be balls-out, irreverent rock and roll," she said. "I've been pretty much in this '70s rock and roll kick and I just want to capture some of the true essence of what rock and roll is, and that's just irreverence and sexiness and fun and not giving a f---, so we'll definitely put a bit of rock and roll in it." </P><P> </P><P>So, does that mean that fans can expect the likes of Alice Cooper or Peter Frampton to show up on her new album? Perhaps. Because while Ke$ha's new album is still a ways off, she's already begun calling in favors, hoping to line up a killer collabo for the new disc. </P><P> </P><P>"I'm trying, trust me," she laughed. "I really would love to connect with one of my idols, I mean, that's my dream. I'm working on it." </P><P> </P><P><i>What do you think of Ke$ha going rock for her next album? Tell us in the comments!</i></p>

Is Believe The Place For Justin Bieber's Baby Mama Drama?
Pop star said he wrote about his 2011 paternity controversy on the upcoming album.
By John Mitchell
<P>Sometimes you just have some things to get off your chest. </P><P> </P><P>For teen pop phenom <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/bieber_justin/artist.jhtml">Justin Bieber</a>, one of those things is a <a href="/news/articles/1673599/justin-bieber-baby-claim.jhtml">paternity suit</a> filed last year by a 20-year-old California woman claiming that a brief bathroom rendezvous with him following an October 2010 concert resulted in her pregnancy. </P><P> </P><P>Rather than ignore the matter, Bieber is <a href="/news/articles/1683817/justin-bieber-believe-paternity-scandal-song.jhtml">confronting it head on</a> with his new album <i>Believe.</i> "That girl — Mariah Yeater — who said she was going to have my baby. I wrote about that situation," Bieber told the BBC of his new album. "Every song has a piece of me... I wrote almost all of them or co-wrote them." </P><P> </P><P><center><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:757407/cp~id%3D1682760%26vid%3D757407%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A757407" width="460" height="260" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></center> </P><P> </P><P>The case, which Yeater dropped in November, has many wondering if Bieber was wise to commit his feelings to something as public and eternal as an album, or if he should have just let go of what was really a minor controversy. </P><P> </P><P>Though few believed them, the rumors introduced Bieber to one of the many pitfalls of celebrity and briefly overwhelmed his press cycle when he was trying to promote his Christmas album, <i>Under the Mistletoe.</i> The accusation challenged his family-friendly brand, something <a href="http://newsroom.mtv.com/2011/11/10/justin-bieber-legal-expert-weighs-in-on-paternity-case/">family law expert told MTV News</a> could be grounds for a defamation of character suit. </P><P> </P><P>The suit likely weighed heavily on Bieber, regardless of its merit, making it prime material for his songwriting. But does dragging it all back into the public sphere benefit him in any tangible way? His <a href="/news/articles/1683621/justin-bieber-paternity-accuser-message.jhtml">recent tweet about Yeater</a> — which read, "Dear mariah yeeter...we have never met...so from the heart i just wanted to say..." accompanied by an audio clip of Sasha Baron Cohen's character Borat saying, "You will never get this" — was neither subtle nor particularly sophisticated. And since details of the suit were made so public and remain fresh in the minds of his fans, why restart the conversation if there is nothing new to add? </P><P> </P><P>Responding to your own press is a slippery slope for celebrities, and it can do one of two things: clear the air or consume the conversation. </P><P>For Madonna and Michael Jackson, it did the former. "Billie Jean," Michael Jackson's classic declaration that he was not the father, was wrapped in a bit of mystery. There have long been contradictory claims that the song is about groupies MJ encountered early in his fame and that it was derived from a real-life experience in which a mentally ill fan claimed that Jackson had fathered her child. But it really doesn't matter; we just know that these accusations were out there, so MJ decided to shut it down with a song. </P><P> </P><P>The difference is, Bieber's controversy is already over and, considering few people ever believed the claims, was never a huge deal to begin with. </P><P> </P><P>Ever an expert at handling the press, Madonna held her head high when she addressed the massive backlash she encountered after she pressed through her sexually charged <i>Erotica</i>-era with a lone song, "Human Nature." She posited that people's anger with her had more to do with their own hang-ups than with her behavior and refused to apologize. Madonna knew she'd struck a nerve and defiantly declared, "Absolutely no regrets." </P><P> </P><P>She dually stood her ground and introduced something new to the conversation. With "Human Nature," Madonna held up a mirror to the public and asked "Is it really my sexuality you are uncomfortable with?" </P><P>Bieber needs to pay particular attention to this lest he fall hard into Taylor Swift territory, where the artist is practically expected to directly address the minutia of their private lives in every song. </P><P> </P><P>First, it was <a href="/news/articles/1599032/taylor-swift-explains-why-she-was-open-about-joe-jonas-breakup.jhtml">Joe Jonas with "Forever & Always,"</a> then John Mayer on "Dear John" and <a href="/news/articles/1650042/taylor-swift-needed-to-perform-innocent-at-vmas.jhtml">Kanye West on "Innocent."</a> It's important, of course, for a singer/ songwriter to write what they know, but there's a reason we only just learned <a href="http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/entertainment/2012/02/the-man-who-inspired-adeles-rolling-in-the-deep-revealed/" target="_blank">who the subject</a> of Adele's multiplatinum, Grammy-winning <i>21</i> was (and why she's never confirmed it). </P><P> </P><P>We want to be able to apply a song's emotion to our own lives, but it's hard to do that when a track is either too specific or too self-indulgent. We haven't heard Bieber's song about Yeater, so we can't speak to whether it is either. If he has something new to say about the controversy — perhaps how it felt to be betrayed by one of his fans — then he may have found a way to turn lemons into lemonade. </P><P> </P><P>But if all he brings to the table are boasts about not being the father, well, then he should get ready for questions about how literal his love songs are regarding his relationship with Selena Gomez. Once you open the door and make your private life the subject of your professional endeavors, there's no turning back.</p>

'Django Unchained' First Look: Leonardo DiCaprio Heads South
Quentin Tarantino's Western also stars Christoph Waltz.
By Kevin P. Sullivan
Leonardo DiCaprio in "Django Unchained"
Photo: Columbia Pictures/EW
For years, Quentin Tarantino has toyed with the Western, peppering homages to directors like Sergio Leone into "Kill Bill" and "Inglourious Basterds," but now the director is finally taking on the genre with "Django Unchained," albeit in his own twisted way.
Most of Tarantino's secrets have stayed on the set, but Thursday (April 26) Entertainment Weekly debuted the first official look at just how far west Tarantino is going in "Django Unchained."
What separates the film from your usual Western is that it's actually what Tarantino calls a "southern," taking place primarily in the pre-Civil War South. The first photos show off the unique style of the film and reveal what Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio and Christoph Waltz will look like when "Django Unchained" opens in theaters on December 25.
The photo of Foxx and Waltz could be straight out of a traditional Western. Foxx, as title character Django, carries his saddle over his shoulder and wears a prototypical cowboy hat. His companion, Dr. King Schultz, played by Waltz, is a German dentist-turned-bounty-hunter, and his more sophisticated getup reflects that.
It isn't until we see DiCaprio's evil plantation owner, Calvin Candie, that we find the connection to the Deep South. In the photo, DiCaprio is dressed up like a fine Southern gentleman, but he poses menacingly with a hammer in his hand.
EW spoke with Foxx about working on the sure-to-be controversial film, which addresses slavery like never before.
"There's a beautiful way [Tarantino] found for the characters to talk to each other. It's mind-blowing. You've never heard it this way," Fox told the magazine. "You've seen movies deal with slavery — or Westerns that never dealt with slavery — do it the safe way. This way is like ... wow."
Check out everything we've got on "Django Unchained."

Meanwhile, Zac didn’t mind the attention, and had his blue Sharpie marker ready to sign autographs while keeping his left hand securely tucked inside his pocket.
Speaking of his left hand, earlier this week Zac sported a bandage on his paw at the London premiere of his new flick “The Lucky One.”
As for what caused his injury, Efron snarkily explained, “A fan bit me.”

Lil Wayne, T.I., Wiz Khalifa To Get 'Sleazy' With Ke$ha
Tip confirms second remix in the works for track, which previously featured a remix verse from Andre 3000.

Lana Del Rey 'Compelled' By Britney Spears
Label boss Jimmy Iovine calls criticism 'a drag.'
By Gil Kaufman
<P>To look at her, you'd think <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/rey_lana_del/artist.jhtml"_blank">Lana Del Rey's</a> inspirations come mostly from 1940s detective movies and sepia-toned Hollywood pinups. But the "Video Games" singer told England's Magic 105.4 that one of her big fashion and music icons is Britney Spears. </P><P> </P><P></p><div class="player-placeholder right" title="Lana Del Rey Says Her Lyrics 'Are Personal'" id="vid:724891.id:1677189" width="240" height="211"></div><p> </P><P> </P><P>"I'm not really interested in a ton of female musicians but there is something about Britney that compelled me — the way she sings and just the way she looks," Del Rey said. And even though she's just released her major-label debut under the Del Rey name, she added that she's already kind of over music-making. </P><P> </P><P>"The thing that makes me happy now isn't really singing," she said. "Music was once the be-all and end-all, but when you lose everything you have over and over again, it's not so important." </P><P> </P><P>It might be a bit early for her to bail on the whole music thing though, since her album, <I>Born to Die</I>, topped the iTunes album charts in 14 countries this week, including the U.S., U.K., Italy, France, Germany, Ireland and Mexico. </P><P> </P><P>The chart triumph — and a possible #2 debut next week on the <I>Billboard</i> albums tally — came despite a rash of negative or <a href="/news/articles/1678050/lana-del-rey-album-born-to-die-reviews.jhtml">middling reviews</a>
of the album as well as the continuing fallout from her shaky <a href="/news/articles/1677389/lana-del-rey-snl.jhtml">"Saturday Night Live"</a>
debut last month. </P><P> </P><P>The haterade has gotten her label boss, Interscope's Jimmy Iovine, to chime in on the flack his latest protégé has been taking. "It's a drag," Iovine told <a href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/lana-del-rey-backlash-jimmy-iovine-286378" target="_blank"><I>The Hollywood Reporter</I></a>. "Maybe this is a new sport. It's something we've never seen before. Or maybe it's [like] the Giants and the Jets." Del Rey herself told <I>Rolling Stone</I> that she thought she looked "beautiful" and sang "fine" on the show, saying that "that's just the way I perform, and my fans know that." </P><P> </P><P>Say what you want about Del Rey's looks, attitude and performance ability, but Iovine said there is one thing you can't mess with. </P><P> </P><P>Musically, he thinks <I>Die</I> is "really good. Great lyrics and great songs. I don't care what anybody says, 'Video Games' is a great song. When she sings that song, it moves me. It's how we signed her — she sang and it was beautiful. I think she's really talented. Period."</p>

With a Little Luck: A Novel
My good friend Caprice Crane's new book, With a Little Luck, is out today. Yay, Caprice!
It's gotten great reviews:
"Crane is one of the funniest writers of popular fiction around. The dialog (inner and outer) is laugh-out-loud, snort-inducing hilarious . . . Readers will want to cross their fingers and spit while throwing salt over their shoulders if it helps Berry reach her dreams. Highly recommended."
—Library Journal
"Fans of Stacy Ballis and Cara Lockwood will appreciate Crane's effortlessly funny style, which is often attempted in popular fiction but is rarely this well executed...Lighthearted and charmingly honest."
—Booklist
"[A] satisfying romantic comedy...[with] real character growth."
—Kirkus Reviews
And even better blurbs:
"Romantic, poignant and funny—this book is a lucky find for lit fans. Caprice Crane is a nimble and gifted storyteller."
—Diablo Cody, Academy Award-winning screenwriter of Juno
"A hilarious romp that oozes charm and giddy fun. Caprice Crane is a true talent."
—Molly Jong-Fast, author of The Social Climber's Handbook
"Witty, fast-paced, and sheer fun. Caprice Crane is a master of dialogue. Half the time I was reading this book I was smiling, which made me look like a crazy person on the subway."
—Jancee Dunn, author of Don’t You Forget About Me and Why Is My Mother Getting a Tattoo?
"Absolutely charming and hilarious."
—Missy Peregrym, star of the movie Stick It and ABC's Rookie Blue
"With a Little Luck scores in humor, head, and heart. In other words, it’s a perfect trifecta."
—Karyn Bosnak, author of 20 Times a Lady (soon to be the major motion picture What's Your Number?)
(Omg, who is that last fantastic blurber?) (I meant every word of it.)
And most importantly, she has the cutest dog ever (who likes to video chat with Bev):
Anyway, check it out, buy it—it's fantastic!

'Dark Knight Rises,' 'Hobbit' Footage Screens At CinemaCon
While fans and critics called Nolan's footage 'explosive and awesome,' many were not as enthusiastic about Peter Jackson's.

The Warner Bros. panel at CinemaCon was among one of the most highly anticipated of the gatherings of film fans, journalists and theater owners. Rumors of footage from Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit" at a revolutionary 48 frames per second and potential appearance from Christopher Nolan and "The Dark Knight Rises" made the panel a can't-miss event.
Soon after the conclusion of the panel, bloggers and journalists from across the industry shared their immediate reactions with the world, and the results spell good things for Batman fans, but could mean doom for those awaiting a return to Middle Earth.
"The Dark Knight Rises" was an expected but unannounced feature of the panel, and the reaction so far on Twitter has been unanimously positive.
"THE DARK KNIGHT RISES footage was as awesome as you'd expect. Saw footage of 'The Bat' in action. IMAX stuff looks sick. Nolan is amazing" — Steven Weintraub, Collider
"Also of note: Bane's voice has been seriously amplified & clarified in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, and I don't care what anyone says. "— Josh Dickey, Variety
"The Dark Knight Rises footage was explosive and awesome. #CinemaCon" — Peter Sciretta, /Film
The reactions to the 48-fps footage from 'The Hobbit,' however, were less than stellar. Many complained that the faster frame rate did not look like a film, but most agreed that the bump improved the quality of the 3-D. The footage included several scenes, including the famous sequence of Bilbo challenging Gollum to a series of riddles.
"Listening to Cinemacon people - theater owners - this 48fps demo sold NOBODY," — Devin Faraci, Badass Digest
"Great Scott, THE HOBBIT in 48 frames-per-second is a thing to behold. Totally different experience. Not all will like the change." — Dickey
"Saw ten minutes of Hobbit in 48fps 3D. Very exciting, but I'm now very unsure about higher framerates #CinemaCon" — Peter Sciretta, /Film
It's likely this will only be the beginning of the 48 fps date, as several films, including James Cameron's proposed "Avatar" sequels, are planning to utilize the technology.
Baz Luhrmann's "Great Gatsby" also showed off footage for the first time to the public, but its 3-D was received much more warmly.
"Also saw ~5 mins of The Great Gatsby raw 3D footage and WOW. Baz has made a beautiful, 3D drama, really enhances the experience. Whoa." — Alex Billington, First Showing
"Writing up THE HOBBIT. Drinking while doing it. GREAT GATSBY was gorgeous, though." — Faraci
Check out everything we've got on "The Hobbit" and "The Dark Knight Rises."
